Lab Rats roleplay, chapter 6
By: JessTFfan2212 and AuroraFox

Elijah was actually starting to nod off. Since he didn't really have to wake up right then and there, he was starting to get a little sleepy again.

Bunsen and Rodger suddenly walked in the room. The medic walked over to the two boys, looking happy if not relieved.

"Hey! Good news. We get to do the check up today!" He said.

Elijah snapped awake, realizing that he fell asleep. Hearing that they were just going to have a check up was some good news. He didn't want to be interrogated again until Clockwork got better to some degree.

Rodger walked into the cell and knelt down next to the time ghost, gently picking him up, making sure the teen's head was resting on his shoulder before standing up again.

Elijah made sure to keep an eye on Rodger, making sure he didn't do anything. He wasn't used to trusting people. From what he saw of the GiW, they were sneaky and loved to manipulate emotions.

Rodger walked out of the cell, making sure not to let Clockwork's legs bump into anything until he got to Bunsen.

"See? Look at the bags under his eyes. We should look into this." He said.

Bunsen nodded. "Yeah he does look pretty bad..." He said as he helped them into the medical wing. Elijah sighed as he remembered this place. Heading toward Bunsen, Elijah headed to one of the cots to sit down, pretty much making himself comfortable as he tried to think of a way out of this place.

Rodger carried Clockwork over to another cot and gently set him down. He started to check his pulse and his eyes.

"Can you start examining the other one's collar burn?" He asked.

"Alright." Bunsen said as he took over some medical supplies to where Elijah was sitting. Elijah looked up at him and watched as he tugged at the collar a bit. It hurt a little but Elijah didn't wince. He merely let the human scientist put on the medicine.

Rodger did the same once he was done checking the time ghost's pulse. As he worked on applying the medicine Clockwork groaned in his sleep, making Rodger a little uneasy.

As Bunsen continued to work, he saw a few deep burns and tried to treat them. However, as he touched the area with medicine, Elijah winced with pain and swung his arm out at Bunsen, knocking him back a bit. Clearly, Elijah was holding back.

"Those are pretty raw..." Bunsen said as he got back on his feet. He started to treat the wounds, being more gentle now that he knew how sensitive they were.

As Rodger was working on Clockwork's burns, the teen began to groan more, a little louder each time.

"Aw. Sorry, kid. but this needs to be done." The medic mumbled. He just barely touched one of them when the teen's facial expression changed to a slightly agitated one.

"NNGH!" He suddenly grunted.

"Aw crud, that's tender. Why does Labcoat have to do this?" Rodger mumbled.

"It's probably a power thing." Bunsen commented as he started to finish with Elijah. The pale ghost really looked tired. He was pretty exhausted and it showed on his face.

"Once we're done, you can go back to sleep." He coaxed, making Elijah relax a little more. However, Elijah willed himself not to sleep. He wasn't going to let his guard down.

Rodger continued to work on the time ghost's burns, no matter how much he winced. He just hoped the kid wouldn't wake up too soon.

Elijah continued to watch and make sure Clockwork was treated well before he decided to fall asleep. He kept calm as Bunsen cleaned up the rest of his wounds.
"Is he looking better?" Bunsen asked.

"I'm not sure. Maybe a little, but I won't know for sure until he wakes up." Replied Rodger as he finished up with the teen's burns.

Bunsen nodded and finished with Elijah's wounds. Seeing that they were done, Elijah didn't move at all. He still didn't trust these scientists, even though they did help.

Rodger finished fixing up Clockwork's burns and began examining some of his older wounds like the stabbed shoulder, case and sliced side. Re-bandaging them as well. It was then Clockwork began to stir. He slowly opened his eyes a little, glancing around.

"Hey, kid. You feeling alright?" Asked Rodger. Clockwork didn't say anything, he just shook his head 'no'. He looked half asleep. "Well, just relax, okay? You're not going through anything bad for a while." Said Rodger.

Elijah saw how tired Clockwork looked and smirked. He's a stubborn old man, I'll give him that. Elijah thought. He finally moved back, his head lying against the pillow. He wanted to sleep but wasn't sure if this was a trick. It was like he was fighting to stay awake.

Bunsen moved up to Elijah and saw how he was struggling to stay awake. "Go ahead and rest." Bunsen said quietly. Elijah's eyes darted toward him, glaring at the scientist. "It's okay. You're not going to be running or answering any questions today. Your friend will be fine and right here when you wake up." Elijah felt his body get the best of him and it forced him to sleep. His eyes shut before he knew it. Bunsen smirked and continued to work on fixing Elijah's wounds.

Clockwork watched with a tired expression on his face as the medic finished re-bandaging him. He was really spacey. The teen didn't even notice Rodger as he placed a hand on his forehead. Clockwork groaned a little bit. He didn't feel very good. The medic took his hand away from the teen's forehead.

"I think his temperature is rising. He may be sick because of the massive energy loss." Said the medic.

"I'll get a cold compress." Bunsen said as he headed toward the break room for some ice. It wasn't that far away but it'd take some time.

Rodger sighed and began to wipe some sweat off the teen's forehead.

"Just one thing after the other, huh kid?" He said. Clockwork didn't even look at him. He just started coughing a little. Rodger frowned. "Again? Didn't you start coughing when I left to get Bunsen?" The medic walked around the bed and grabbed a transparent mask. It was hooked up to the air tank containing the new toxin stabilizing gas. Rodger gently lifted up the teen's head and placed the mask over his mouth and nose, making sure the strap was around his head properly then lowered his head back down.

Bunsen soon came back with the ice pack. He saw the mask on Clockwork's face and frowned. "Another attack? I tried to warn them that the gas wasn't ready to be tested on them." He said, moving the ice pack onto Clockwork's head.

"Yeah... Poor kid can't seem to catch a break." Said Rodger. He watched as the teen slowly closed his eyes and passed out again. The medic smirked when he saw the kid would get some rest. "Come on. Let's finish up and let them sleep." He said.

----------

Elijah groaned as he slowly began to wake up from a rather vivid dream. He looked up at the ceiling, noticing that the room was dark, which wasn't how he remembered it. His red eyes shifted over toward Clockwork, who was asleep but looking quite a bit better. He reached over and gently shook Clockwork's shoulder. "Hey, old man?" He asked.

The time ghost stirred before groaning, slowly coming to. He moaned as he opened his eyes a little.

"What-? Elijah?" He began. He sounded weak. "Where-... w-where are we?" he asked.

"We're safe, I think. Two of those scientists brought us here to rest." Elijah said, rather glad Clockwork woke up. "You feeling a bit better old man? Nothing broken?" It was strange for Elijah to ask because he never really seemed to care, but even he knew that this wasn't the time to be looking out for just himself.

"Mmmm... F-feel like a drain-... drained battery." Said Clockwork. "Mmmm..." He moaned, almost passing out again.

"Hey don't flake out on me, old man!" Elijah said, shaking Clockwork a bit more. He looked around before whispering. "I have an idea of how we can get out of here but I need you to help me..."

At that, Clockwork's face seemed to light up as he looked at Elijah.

"Are you sure?"He asked. He didn't smile, but you could tell the very subject of escaping lifted his spirit.

Elijah nodded. "We just have to persuade them to put us in the maze again. You find a pathway where there are guns and I'll see if I can get them to shoot off the collar. Then, I'll set the whole place ablaze and make them go mad as we run out of here."

"That seems a little risky... But-..." Clockwork said. He thought it over. It could be their only chance what with Labcoat around trying to use him as an energy source. "Alright."

Elijah smirked. "Good. Just be careful alright. I'll try and get the collar off you when we're safe and out of the hands of those scientists."

Clockwork managed a weak smirk before his expression faded to his more neutral look. He had had enough of this place.

Elijah was pretty glad to see the old man smiling again. He soon moved down toward the pillow and tried to rest some more.

Seeing the war prince go back to sleep reminded the time master how much strength he had to try and recover. Especially now since they were planning an escape. He then noticed how tired he still was as he could barely keep his eyes open. Eventually everything went black.

----------

Bunsen yawned as he was sorting some papers. It was first thing in the morning and he was feeling really exhausted. After sipping his coffee and getting everything organized, Bunsen headed to the room where the ghosts were. Opening the door, he was surprised how quiet it was. He turned on the lights.

"Morning you two." He said, sipping a little bit more of his coffee.

Clockwork only stirred and rolled onto his side, burying his face in the pillow and covering his eyes with his arm to block the light. He moaned. It was too early to be tortured.

Bunsen smirked when he saw Clockwork's reaction. "I know but you'll be fine." He said. "I think we can persuade Labcoat to have you just have some small exercise before he gets impatient." He headed over to Elijah, who hadn't moved or stirred since he came in.

Clockwork just groaned, slowly rolling over onto his back again. He opened his eyes a little, being tired as usual. The teen looked over to Elijah, wondering why he hadn't moved.

"Come on." Bunsen muttered as he shook the war prince's shoulder. Elijah groaned and slowly began to wake up. "Long dream?" Bunsen asked with a half smile. Elijah only scoffed.

Clockwork struggled to lift himself up even just a few inches. He was still really weak. He winced and clutched his chest as a sudden pain coursed through him. He groaned.

Bunsen turned to him. "Take it easy alright?" He urged, making sure Clockwork didn't try to push himself too hard. Elijah sat up and shook his head, a little dizzy.

Clockwork just slumped back into bed. He couldn't believe he still could barely move. Although, it wasn't his fault they decided to use him as a battery.

Bunsen frowned and looked down at Clockwork's internal clock. "Well, from what I assume, you don't eat but is there something that I can give you that would help you recover besides rest?" He asked.

Clockwork just stayed silent for a moment. If his powers were working, odds are he could have half his energy regained by now.

"No."  He answered plainly. He could have said to be out of this living nightmare, but there was a small possibility it would tip him off about what him and Elijah were planning.

"Alright." Bunsen said, hoping there was something. Guess rest and first aid were the only things they could do at the moment. Elijah, oddly enough, kept quiet and waited for the more aggressive scientists to come in.

As if right on cue, Labcoat walked into the room looking gleefully evil. Clockwork shrunk back. If he was used as a battery again, he might not survive. And then who knows what could happen.

"Well, well. Look who's feeling better!" Said the scientist as he walked over to Clockwork. The teen tried to move away, but Labcoat grabbed his bad shoulder, holding him where he was. "We've got something special planned for you."

Elijah glared at Labcoat. "Good because I have something special planned for you guys too." He said, trying to sound convincing.

Labcoat looked up at Elijah, a scowl on his face.

"Is that so?" He asked. "And what- prey tell- would that be?" Labcoat began to squeeze Clockwork's stabbed shoulder, making the ghost wince.

"Another obstacle course." Elijah demanded, popping his neck as he twisted it a little. "I want to see just what kind of weapons I'm dealing with and if you're really a threat."

Labcoat smirked, squeezing Clockwork's shoulder just a little more. The teen grunted.

"Ha. You really want to? Alright. You can do that while we drain your friend." Said Labcoat. He roughly lifted Clockwork to a sitting up position. The teen grabbed his arm and tried to remove it, no matter how weak he was.

"Of course." Elijah said, looking toward Clockwork. As soon as he got the collar off, he'd run after Clockwork and get him out of whatever machine they decided to put him in. The time ghost gave Elijah a worried look. He really hoped the war prince knew what he was doing. Just then two guards walked in, took his air mask off, and grabbed the boy like last time and began to carry him out of the room.

"Have fun, Elijah Dark." Said Labcoat. He then turned around and headed for the door.

Elijah smirked. He knew what he was doing. No matter how strong this collar was, it had a breaking point somewhere and he would find it. He just hoped he had enough time to break the collar in time and get to Clockwork. As the two guards carried the time ghost, who had begun to struggle against them, to the lab with Labcoat close behind, another guard came in to take the war prince to the room with the maze. Elijah went along rather easily. He didn't want to make things difficult. Who knew how much fight Clockwork had left in him?

----------

It wasn't long before the guards carrying Clockwork were walking into the lab and through the glass door to the energy draining machine. Clockwork froze, remembering how much pain he felt in that thing. The two guards lifted him up and placed his arms and legs in the restraints.

"I know we did this to you two days ago. But you see, you still have too much energy at your disposal. If we want to properly control you through that clock of yours, you must be dangerously low on energy." Said Labcoat. He grabbed the teen by the jaw. "But don't worry, we won't kill you. It'll just feel like we're killing you." He said. The scientist began to laugh. Clockwork gulped as he heard the machine powering up.

----------

Elijah was placed at the beginning of the maze. "Alright, we're going to make it harder because you had help last time and obviously, you didn't have trouble getting through it." He said, messing with the settings.

"Do your worst." Elijah muttered.

----------

A guard walked off to the side of the glass room as he finished plugging all the wires into the teen's clock. Clockwork just hung there in his restraints. No one could help him now.

"Begin." Said Labcoat. A scientist presses a button on the control panel and time ghost began screaming as electricity coursed through his clock and the rest of his body. His insides began to feel like they were on fire again. He was in so much pain.

----------

Elijah sprinted through the maze as he wished to get this collar off as soon as possible. He moved into the maze quickly, wondering where there were blades or projectiles he could use.

----------

As Clockwork's energy was being drained. His chest felt like it would explode. Sweat was beating down his forehead and he was shaking. Everything felt like it was being ripped out of him again. He screamed in agony.

----------

Elijah avoided several obstacles but he needed something to hit his collar. He saw a few robots with blades and nearly got his neck chopped off, making the robot slice a little against the collar. Just as Elijah expected. Now he just needed to be careful and quick to get the robots to slice the collar off.

----------

"Almost?" Asked Labcoat as he walked over to another scientist. Clockwork couldn't take it anymore. Tears began to roll down his face as energy was being drained from his very core. He didn't even have enough strength to lift his head. He could barely scream anymore. He struggled to avoid losing consciousnesses.

"That's it." Said a scientist. "He's done."

----------

Elijah frowned as he avoided several attacks. He soon was able to get one robot to make a sharp gash into the collar. With a grin, he smirked as the collar was chopped off. Finally regaining his powers, Elijah laughed and turned invisible, phasing through the walls to get to Clockwork.

----------

The time ghost limply dropped to the floor like a rag doll, crying out in pain from the impact. He just lay there, shaking, wincing, gasping for air his body didn't need as tears rolled down his face. Everything hurt so bad. He couldn't even lift his head. The rest of his energy had been almost completely drained.

"Now we can begin. Bring the device." Said Labcoat.

Elijah went through dozens of rooms undetected until he finally found the one where Clockwork was. He quickly phased through the ceiling and landed between the scientists and the time ghost. He faced the scientists, his eyes glowing blood red. He was going to enjoy watching them suffer.

"YOU!! HE'S OUT! STOP HIM!!" Shouted Labcoat. The guard in the glass room pulled out a taser and lunged at the war prince.

Elijah spun and kicked the taser out of the man's hand. With a punch wrapped with fire, he hit the guard backward into the wall. He glanced at Labcoat and the other scientists. His markings began to liquefy as his Blood Curse was beginning to fill the men's minds with images of torture and suffering, making them hear the cries of the martyrs.

Labcoat and all the scientists began to shout at their illusions, telling them to go away and let them go back to reality. They all eventually began to scream as the mental images sank in. Clockwork was still lying on the floor a mere few feet from Elijah as he heard the scientists screaming. Still trembling and gasping for air, he tried to move. Then winced as a sudden pain shot throughout his body. The teen began to pant and wheeze more.

Elijah could faintly hear Clockwork's gasping and stepped back a little, not wanting to turn around and cause Clockwork to see the illusion of madness. Once he could faintly feel Clockwork's body right behind his foot, Elijah moved his hand in his pocket, taking out the inhaler. "Can't take it yourself, old man?" He asked. However, because of the Blood Curse, his voice sounded otherworldly and malevolent.

Clockwork couldn't answer, He just couldn't. He couldn't move and he couldn't speak. It was then he began to cough. After just a few he cried out in pain. It was quiet and raspy but he still cried out. He kept gasping for air whenever he could between coughs.

"Just hang on a little bit longer old man." Elijah sighed and closed his eyes, cancelling his power and returning his senses to normal. He quickly turned around to gently pick up Clockwork and flew through the building walls, getting themselves away from the GiW lab.

"I'll put this place in lock down!!" Shouted one of the scientists.

"No." Said Labcoat. "They'll have to stop and rest eventually. And when they do, we'll get em."

----------

Elijah got quite a bit away from the lab. He kept flying through the pouring rain before landing in a forest and setting Clockwork down. He propped the coughing old man up against a tree to sit up as he took out the inhaler. Elijah administered the medicine when Clockwork inhaled. "Sorry to keep you waiting. We should be safe for the moment." He said.

If the time ghost had enough strength to speak, he would thank the war prince. But sadly all he could do was rest his head against the tree trunk, while shaking and panting. Oh god he was in so much pain. And now the rain was getting him soaked.

Getting the feeling the GiW would not give up yet, Elijah got up and picked up Clockwork again. "We got to move so I'll try not to jostle you up so much." Elijah said as he flew toward Amity Park, avoiding strong winds and lightning along the way.

----------

Just outside the Guys in White headquarters, multiple underground hangers opened their doors, revealing a dozen seeker jets programmed to track the collars around the prisoner's necks and at the very least a basic ghost ecto signature. The ecto signature tracker was a long shot in this case though. Both ghosts were unique in comparison to others. Soon enough the jet's began to take flight, going after the escaped teens.

----------

Meanwhile, Clockwork was fighting to stop himself from passing out before reaching the Fenton's and getting out of this storm. His eyes suddenly widened a bit as he felt something strange. He didn't like it.

"E-...elijah..." He rasped, immediately wincing after. It hurt.

Elijah heard Clockwork and flew down to the Fenton's rooftop. He set the soaking wet old man down against one of the Ops-Tower supports. He moved his hands to Clockwork's collar and grabbed either side, pulling apart to rip the thing off. It was a bit of a struggle but it finally broke apart, allowing Clockwork a little more freedom. "Just try to take it easy old man. A little bit more and we're safe in the Ghost Zone." Elijah said, looking behind him in case anything was tracking them.

Clockwork could barely keep his eyes open. He felt sick. And the freezing rain wasn't helping. He couldn't go back home for the Observants to see him like this. They would ban him from Earth. He needed to be healed before he got there and he was sitting on one of his best options.

"D-... Danny..." He rasped. The teen groaned. Suddenly, six white jets flew over Fenton Works, eventually turning around to circle above.

"This is tracker one, we have located the targets on top a civilian household. Engage or disengage?" Radioed one of the pilots.

----------

Meanwhile back at the lab, Labcoat crushed a coffee mug with his bare hand from hearing the transition.

"Disengage. We can't afford to be seen as a civilian threat, but keep an eye on them and attack as soon as they are out of civilian range." He ordered.

----------

Elijah turned upward toward the jets. He glared at them before picking Clockwork up and phasing them inside the Fenton household and out of the rain, probably scaring the living daylights out of them from whatever they were doing. Thankfully, they didn't seem to be at the house for the moment. Elijah moved down to set Clockwork on the living room couch, his head propped against a pillow.

"Anything I can do old man?" Elijah asked, which was rather unlike him.

Clockwork looked at Elijah, still panting and shaking. Everything was beginning to be one big blur.

"... Danny..."  He rasped again. The teen groaned and closed his eyes. He couldn't stop himself from falling asleep.

Elijah sighed as the old man fell asleep. He might as well go look for the halfa. He stood up and headed upstairs, having a hunch the halfa was in his room. "Halfa!" He demanded, looking through the house. "You here?"

Danny woke up and suddenly flew out of his room and down the hall as Danny Phantom, heading for the voice as he thought it was one of his many enemies. He rounded a corner and seeing it was Elijah, he screeched to a stop in mid air as he reached the stairs.

"Elijah!? It's late. What are you doing he-? Are those burns on your neck?" Danny asked, sounding concerned.

"These I can handle. It's the old man that needs help." Elijah said as he headed downstairs, not really saying much else. Then again, this wasn't a time for explanation. Clockwork went through some serious pain to help them escape.

"What old man?" Asked Danny as he landed on the ground. He followed Elijah into the living room and saw a kid out cold on his couch. He had white hair, blue skin and was wearing a badly ripped black long sleeved shirt and blue jeans, both of which were soaked. He also had a scar over his left eye. It was familiar. "Who's that?" Asked Danny.

Elijah slapped his forehead and turned to Danny. "You're kidding. You're kidding right?" He asked. "Look again you stupid halfa."

Danny tilted his head to the side as if to pretend the ghost was standing up. That scar looked so much like...

"Ha ha! You know, if he was wearing a purple hood, he'd look just like Clockwork as a teen!" Said Danny. Wait a minute... He thought. "Wait, that scar. Clockwork?"

"Somebody give this idiot a medal." Elijah said as he headed to the kitchen to get Clockwork an ice pack.

"But what-? How-? What did you do to him?!" Asked Danny. He ran over to the panting time ghost and moved some of his wet white hair out of his face, looking at the green stained bandages on his forehead. The blue ghost looked awful. Sweat was beating down the teen's face and he was shaking. He looked like he was in a lot of pain.

"Not what I did. The Guys in White. They cancelled our powers and put the old man into a torture device." Elijah said, walking back into the room, putting the cold pack on the time ghost's neck to help cool him off.

"... Oh man... Poor Clockwork." Said Danny. He looked to Elijah. "And what about you? What did they do to your neck?" He asked.

"Shock collars. Had them on the both of us." Elijah said as he sat on the other side of the couch, crossing his arms. "We haven't had much rest since they caught us. The old man really needs it."

"... Oh my god... I can't believe something like this happened to you two." Danny said. He placed a hand on Clockwork's forehead. "He's burning up." Said Danny. Just then the time ghost groaned and began to cough, wincing many times. "He's sick?" Asked Danny.

"The poison gas they used. He has to use this inhaler." Elijah said, taking it out of his pocket. He moved Clockwork's head up a little bit and pressed the button on the inhaler. Danny felt his heart sink. He never thought someone, let alone his friend, could be tortured like that.

"... I can't-... I..." Danny stuttered. He was at a loss for words. "I'm getting him another ice pack." He spun around and walked into the kitchen, opened the fridge, and pulled out an ice pack.  Closing the fridge, he went back to the two teens, placing the pack on Clockwork's forehead. "H-how did those burns get so bad?" Danny asked.

"Well they didn't use the collars only once you know. They seemed all too giddy to shock us." Elijah said, seeing how bad Clockwork looked. Danny froze and looked at the time ghost. He needed help.

"That's it. I'm calling my parents." He said. He immediately pulled out his cell phone and dialled for his mom.

"You do that." Elijah said as he leaned back against the couch, pretty bored at this point.

"Hey, mom? It's me. Where are you?" Danny asked his mom as he walked into the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Clockwork began to pant and flinch. Groaning once or twice, as if he was having a nightmare. Images flashed across his sight of him and Elijah covered in ectoplasm, blood, screaming. He began to see green stained tools and gloves scattered on tables.

Elijah's eyes shifted over to Clockwork and saw that he was shivering. "Jeez, you're hopeless..." Elijah said as he reached over and hit Clockwork on the leg, not wanting to get up and shake his shoulder.

Clockwork seemed to calm down after. But bloody images kept flashing across his vision. They began to get worse. Elijah hit him again, trying to get him to wake up. The old man looked pretty terrible, shivering like crazy and wincing in his sleep.

Clockwork just continued to twitch and wince as more bloody images flickered in his sight. He saw Labcoat above him, holding a scalpel stained with his own green blood get closer to his face. He then saw Elijah strapped to a table, screaming and trying to break free. Tears were streaming down his face and ectoplasm was starting to flow onto the ground below him. Clockwork kept twitching as he slept, looking quite scared. He began to cry out a little every now and then as more gruesome images flashed across his sight.

Elijah's eyes widened. This was getting worse. He stood up and began to shake Clockwork's shoulder harder and with urgency. "Old man! Wake up!"

More bloody images flashed across his sight. He flinched and began to cry out even more as the gory nightmare continued. He could almost feel the torture himself it was so vivid. Danny then ran into the room.

"Got to go! Get here as soon as you can!" He shouted into the phone as he ran over to Clockwork, tucking his cell into his pocket. "What's wrong!?" He asked.

"He's having a really bad nightmare and I can't snap him out of it!" Elijah said, picking up Clockwork by the collar and shaking him rather violently. "Come on! Do I have to start slapping you?!"

The time ghost flinched and began to fight against Elijah as if he was one of the scientists in the dream trying to cut him open. His nightmare then flickered to that very thing. Labcoat was cutting the time ghost open. And he could feel it as if it was half real. He cried out again. Just then a new image flickered onto his sight. A gory silhouette of the scientists lifting the time ghost's case out of his body. He could feel everything inside of him shifting from them doing that. He screamed.

Elijah glared at him and shoved him against the couch. "Dammit old man! Wake up!!" Elijah said before he slapped Clockwork multiple times.

The blue teen's eyes shot open, he quickly recoiled and pushed Elijah away no matter how much it hurt to do so, not knowing it was him.

Seeing that the old man was finally awake, Elijah stopped hitting him as soon as his eyes opened. He sighed and looked at him. "That must've been some nasty dream..."

Clockwork didn't say anything. He just sat there with his eyes wide, starring at the ground. He was shaking. You could almost see the torture in his eyes as tears began to fill them.

Elijah, who never in his whole afterlife saw Clockwork cry, moved up to him slowly. "What the heck did you see that made you like this?" Elijah asked.

Clockwork didn't show any signs of acknowledging the boy as another image of torture flashed across the time ghost's sight. He flinched as he saw Elijah's green blood being splattered everywhere before suddenly snapping back to seeing the war prince right in front of him. He couldn't stop it now. Tears began to roll down his traumatized face as he heard the war prince's scream in his head. He brought his knees up to his chest, ignoring the pain by doing so, and crossed his arms over top, then buried his face in his sleeves. As if to hide his tears.

Seeing Clockwork like this...now Elijah was really starting to worry. "Hey...Come on old man." He said moving so that he was at eye level. "Just what did you see exactly?" He asked in a quiet tone. Clockwork stayed silent at first, shaking a little more.

"... They-... They were dissecting us." He said. "I saw them... I saw us... We were screaming... I saw us bleed... We were dying. Slowly. Painfully."

Elijah blinked. "That's what you're worried about? It's just a dream old man." He said, trying to calm the other down a little.

"No. No, you don't understand." Said Clockwork. "It was a vision. What would have happened if we had stayed... I saw what the inside of your body looked like..." He said. He began to shake more, lifting his head from his sleeves. You could see his face was stained with tears as he cried. "I saw them remove my case!" The time ghost shouted.

"CLOCKWORK!" Elijah yelled as he gripped the time ghost's shoulders to keep him on the couch. If Clockwork kept talking like that, Elijah was afraid he'd have a panic attack or worse. Sighing, he stood back up and moved a blanket over the other ghost's shoulders. "It was a nasty dream and even if it was a vision, the Guys in White aren't here. Just try to relax old man. I don't think your body can take any more stress." He said.

Clockwork just stayed silent and sighed, trying to calm down. Elijah was right. He was reaching his limits and needed to relax. He leaned back against the couch, still shaking and panting but it wasn't as bad as it was a minute ago.

"But they're still chasing us..." He said, still looking scared. The teen was still horrified at what he saw... What almost was.

"I know but it looks like they want to keep it a low profile. They're not attacking or storming the place. I think as long as we stay here, we'll be fine." Elijah said as he moved toward the fireplace. Setting some wood into it, he lit the wood on fire, making a rather comfortable setting. "I'll keep watch while you get some rest." He said. "The halfa can help as far as medicine is concerned."

Clockwork looked at the ground, thinking it over. He NEEDED to sleep. He didn't want to but it was obvious that it was badly needed.

"Clockwork?" Said Danny. The time ghost looked at him. "Please." Said Danny. "You need to get some sleep." There was a pause.

Clockwork sighed again before lying down along the couch and slowly rolling over so he was facing the wall. He felt his body burn as he moved. He was in so much pain. It wasn't long before he was struggling to keep his eyes open. Suddenly Danny placed a hand on his shoulder. The time ghost half looked up at him.

"Relax. Everything's fine." Danny said. And just like that, Clockwork closed his eyes and was out like a light.

Elijah smirked. "It's funny how the old man trusts you." He said as he moved to sit on the floor. Elijah didn't really feel tired at the moment. His wounds didn't hurt but he was just too alert to fall asleep.

"Yeah." Said Danny. He looked at the tear stains on Clockwork's face. "How did he get like this? Last time I saw him, he was this big, tough looking time master. Now he's this scared kid..."

"If I knew, I'd tell you halfa." Elijah commented. "But I think it's because those collars blocked his clairvoyance for a good while, not to mention those tortures we had to go through."

Danny sighed and sat down on the ground.

"I guess the Guys in White broke him." He said. "Alright. Tell me everything that happened to you two. Before my mom gets home would be nice."
Finally they're out of there but just how long will this freedom last? :noes:
And Elijah's so bipolar, I love it! It's all a part of his character development...^^
And someone get Clockwork a lollipop for going through all of this!
