Primus. He couldn’t do it.

He just couldn’t do it.

Not again…

After seeing his comrades change from spirited rebels to lap dogs before, Wheeljack couldn’t bear to see it happen again. The Wreckers were formed because the higher-ups were too much of cowards to do the scrap themselves, but when they decided the Wreckers were “too reckless,” they decided to get out the leashes…

Speeding into the woods blindly, Wheeljack transformed back into his robot form and skidded to a stop near the bottom of a large cliff. Thunderclouds rumbled overhead as he hung his head, a shudder going through him, emanating from his spark.

The white wrecker smirked. After all the snide comments by Ultra Magnus and the tortures by the Cons, the one thing that broke his spark was the kid’s tearful face he spied in his rear view mirror…

He didn’t want to leave again…but he didn’t feel like the Autobot base was a “haven” anymore, despite what Optimus offered. At least with the smaller base, it didn’t feel so empty…

A drop of water landed on his shoulder and Wheeljack snapped out of his thoughts. It was going to storm. Might as well find some cover…

---

Making his way inside of a deep crevasse in the cliff, Wheeljack settled himself down deep enough to keep from being seen. The rain came down a bit harder after he was inside, as if it forced the wrecker to take cover. From how dark the sky was, Wheeljack figured the rain would come down in droves and last a while. Thinking there wouldn’t be any harm in it, he turned over on his side, rested his helm against his hand, and drifted off into recharge…

---

Thud. Thud. Thud.

Wheeljack heard an echoing noise through his dreams. He started to stir, wondering what the noise was.

“Rrg…”

“C’mon you jerk! Wake up!”

Wheeljack’s optics jolted awake at the voice. He saw the honorary Wrecker slam her fists into his chestplate as he started to get up. He moved his hand out from under his head and groaned a bit, wondering what she was doing here, or how she even found him…Well, his signal wouldn’t be hard for Doc to find, especially if the kid demanded the medic to find him.

“Just what were you thinking?!”

Wheeljack blinked his optics before turning to Miko, seeing that the kid was shaking and had thick tears overflowing from her eyes.

“H-hey kid…”

“Don’t even start!” She yelled before slamming her fists into his chestplate again. “I’m still mad at you!”

Wheeljack let out a deep intake and let the kid hit his chestplate repeatedly until she had her fill. Each time she did, the wrecker could see tears fall from her face in droplets and land on the ground.

“Why do you keep leaving…?” She muttered, slowing her punches until she eventually stopped. Wheeljack remained quiet.

She turned up to the large blue optics. “Through all the fights with the Cons, nearly losing Earth, and even running into a robot zombie, the only time I was scared was when I nearly lost Bulkhead and almost lost you to Hardshell…” She cried. “Don’t you realize that whenever you leave, I’m scared I’ll never see you again?”

That did it.

The white wrecker frowned and moved his hand to gently curl around Miko’s back. She looked up at Wheeljack in confusion when she was pulled toward his chestplate.

“I know…I’m scared to lose you too. Ya’re a true Wrecker…and I’m proud of you.”

There was a small pause.

“I just can’t imagine what I’d do if Ultra Magnus turned you into one of his obedient soldiers…”
Just a little oneshot I came up after the most recent episode of Transformers Prime. (Season 3, Episode 6: Chain of Command)

Ohhhh. The feels. They hurt me so.

Wheeljack, go back to Miko, Ultra Magnus be slagged. She may be a Wrecker, but she's still just a kid.
